DESCRIPTION |
Good Victorian silver sovereign case and combined vesta case with large suspension loop and a gilded interior. Correctly hallmarked with a full set to the body and partials throughout. |
SILVERSMITH |
Synyer & Beddoes overstrike, probably. Very unusual for a maker to use * instead of &. This is one of the only makers who did and also made such items at exactly this time. The overstrike may be of a reseller or may be their own
1898-1900 mark of which I can find no record. It is not exactly their 1896-98 nor their post 1900 marks. |
