DESCRIPTION |
Victorian silver vesta case with internal gilding and, unusually, additionally hallmarked inside the lid. To the front is the first initial engraving 'CAH' and to the reverse is engraved a second set of initials and the inscription ' who rode to Khiva?' The question mark to the end is intriguing. Khiva is in Uzbekistan and so the riding was probably by horse but an early motorcycle is not out of the question. | ||
