DATE or HALLMARK 1746
ASSAY OFFICE London
WEIGHT in GRAMS 482 the pair
WIDTH 6 ½", 164mm
SILVER STANDARD .925 sterling silver
CONDITION Silver soldering of this period tended to be utilitarian to put it politely but even after taking this into account I believe that all legs have had some attention to the leg/body joint. Neither waiter sits perfectly flat and there are some minor bumps. All of the above is exactly what I would expect to see in a a very good, honest and original pair of waiters from this period. All hallmarks are still beautifully clear and it is wonderful to have the original owner's crest surrounded by three Ducal Coronets.
