| DESCRIPTION | Very unusual antique English Edwardian solid sterling silver sifter ladle in the form of a snail shell with a gilded interior. Far more user friendly than the standard simultaneous scoop/pour designs, this type enables you to scoop-transfer-pour thus no longer necessitating the close proximity of the sugar basin to the foodstuff requiring sugary embellishment. Even comes with a fully gilded interior for ease of cleaning and sumptuous look. Only ever seen one of these before so I expect the design was too expensive to manufacture to become mainstream. |
