DESCRIPTION Exceptionally good antique English Georgian solid sterling silver Old English pattern spoon with original frontal monogram engraving 'MUW'. The silver is thick, much thicker than usual, and the hallmarks well struck and beautifully clear. An absolute gem of a spoon.
SILVERSMITH Hester Bateman, this is the large 6.89mm mark entered at Goldsmiths Hall 5th June 1776.
