| DESCRIPTION | Georgian solid sterling silver Old English pattern condiment ladle with a pronounced hook to the terminal and a good frontal crest engraving. Round bowled, larger than a salt spoon yet much smaller than a sauce ladle. Stem/bowl angle about 50 degrees so probably designed for a taller vessel, perhaps shaped like a neo-classical sugar basket. The terminal would hook onto the top rim and prevent the ladle relaxing into the contents. |
