DESCRIPTION Georgian silver feather edge Old English pattern table fork with engraved crest and monogram. At this point in her career Hester was predominantly a flatware maker and her spoons are still relatively common. We know that she also made forks to go with the  spoons but they are now as rare as hen's teeth. It is true that a worn out fork is difficult to recondition and the result usually unsatisfactory so they are best scrapped whereas much can be done to refresh a spoon but this does not fully explain where all of her forks have gone.
