| INDEX | ALL SILVER |
| DESCRIPTION | Antique English early Georgian solid sterling silver Hanoverian with Rat Tail pattern dessert spoon with a pronounced frontal rib and later crest engraving verso. |
| SILVERSMITH | mark not present |
| DATE or HALLMARK | 1722 |
| ASSAY OFFICE | Newcastle |
| WEIGHT in GRAMS | 29 |
| LENGTH | 6", 155mm |
| SILVER STANDARD | ·925 sterling silver |
| CONDITION | WARNING! There is a slip (scarf) joint mid-stem which probably explains the loss of the maker's mark. The bowl is a bit too good for 1722 so I consider it very likely to be a replacement bowl and lower stem (possibly 1890s). The later crest is over an erasure. |
