INDEX | ALL SILVER |
DESCRIPTION | Good set of seven antique Irish Georgian solid sterling silver Fiddle pattern table forks with a crest engraving verso and beautifully struck and preserved hallmarks. Although clearly a same date and maker set the slight differences between the pieces, mostly in the widths, are testimony to them being hand-made. The crest to the backs is evidence that in 1803 this Irish family were still laying their flatware in the old fashioned way, ie. tines and bowls downwards. |
