DESCRIPTION | Georgian solid sterling silver punch ladle with a silver cone capped spiral twist baleen handle. Typical engraving of the period. This one is for a Mr I (John would be a fair guess) P. There are four little spacer devices below the P that would go between the 'I' and the wife's first initial and then a void. Mrs P has been erased, obliterated from history. I wonder what she did to deserve this fate. Must have been significant as the erasure was very well done and would have been an otherwise unnecessary expense. |
