DESCRIPTION | Interesting antique French silver mustard pot with pineapple finial and clear glass liner. |
SILVERSMITH | D.G |
DATE or HALLMARK | Every part is hallmarked with, to me, almost unfathomable French early 19th century marks. There is also the Association of Gold and Silversmiths mark for Paris 1793 but this mark was possibly also used again a bit later. My best guess is 1809-19, probably October 1819. After taking the images I have found more hallmarks including the maker's D.G struck again this time to the the handle and the 57 below the greyhound's? head mark used 16th August 1819 to 16th November 1819. |
