DESCRIPTION Georgian silver sugar nips with five lobe grips and no engraving.
SILVERSMITH I.S looks like the mark of John Spencer recorded in 1739. He is known to have made sugar nips but we know little of his life. The lion passant is from 1756 onwards and I.S are common initials so this could be another maker.
DATE or HALLMARK circa 1756 from lion passant and general style
