DESCRIPTION | Superb & rare Queen Anne solid Britannia standard silver Hanoverian pattern marrow spoon with a long, ribbed and beaded rat tail, beautifully well struck and preserved hallmarks and a simple initial 'W' engraved towards the terminal of the lamb bowl. This marrow spoon was sold by Christies auction house in London, lot 52, on 26th October 1993 and still wears that lot number under a piece of sticky tape. |

CONDITION | excellent, hint of bowl tip wear from a left handed person, no bumps or repairs. I have left unpolished and with the Christies label attached because some of you prefer that, but I have other silver from this sale and can confirm that the sticky tape is easy to remove and has not harmed the silver. It would be an easy and satisfying home polish. One of the finest examples available to humankind. |
