INDEX | ALL SILVER |
DESCRIPTION | 18 piece vintage Scottish solid sterling silver Old English pattern starter canteen with no engraving comprising of six table forks, six dessert forks and six dessert spoons. Before starting to build your own canteen of silver flatware it is advisable to check the availability of suitable matching pieces and then to start with the dessert forks. These always wear out first and so are the hardest to find. Old English pattern has been made in quantity since the 1760s and all pieces except the early dessert forks are still readily available. With no engraving or erasure this would be an ideal starter canteen as additional pieces will always be relatively easy and inexpensive to source. |
