DESCRIPTION Georgian silver Hanoverian pattern fancy back table spoon with the original retrospective (by two years) initials and date engraving and very good hallmarks. The scroll is particularly fine and the spoon shows signs of only very light use. There is a fracture through the stem at the date letter that has nearly gone all the way through and it would not take much effort to break the stem at this point. I suspect it is this old fracture that explains the otherwise good condition as this spoon has not been used for a very long time. Perhaps more one for the collection than the table and so I have not polished it. My silversmith could repair the fracture inexpensively but the work may impinge on the date letter.
