DESCRIPTION |
Delightfully ostentatious twelve piece Victorian silver gilt dessert service with mid eighteenth century style mother of pearl pistol grip handles, scimitar knife blades and three tine forks. The 24 carat gold plating is
particularly strong and of a deep, rich colour to complement the iridescence of the mother of pearl that really comes to life outside of my photographic light tent. The silver gilt collars are marked for Charles Allen & Sidney Darwin, Sheffield 1906,
who are likely to have also made the handles. |
