DESCRIPTION | Georgian silver Old English pattern table spoon with a contemporary engraved frontal monogram. |
SILVERSMITH |
Peter and Jonathan Bateman. When Hester retired in 1790, the firm was taken over by her two sons Peter and Jonathan on the 7th December 1790. Sadly, Jonathan died from cancer on the 19th April 1791. As a consequence, this is the rarest Bateman mark and much sought after, although seldom encountered. |
